We provide online and telephone advice services to distressed sole traders, partnerships, companies, their directors and their advisors. There are many dozens of such sites proclaiming to help you, but unlike many of those people we are (in our day jobs) turnaround specialists, insolvency practitioners and company doctors.
As part of the KSA Group, CompanyRescue has helped many thousands of soletraders, directors and their employees through our websites since 2000 on both business and personal levels. We are now into our eighth year of providing free, high quality advice on line.
Don't fall for the claims on other websites that insolvency practitioners only work for creditors! KSA Group works with directors and shareholders to maximise their and creditors interests. Rescue first and liquidation last is our ethos.

Keith is the author of the content on this site. He is managing director of Company Rescue Ltd and KSA Group Ltd - a specialist firm of turnaround practitioners. Over 5,000 people have contacted KSA since Keith launched this unique website in 2000 and over 500 companies have now been directly assisted by the author over the last 15 years with assignments ranging from large multi national projects to small manufacturing companies.
Keith started his career as a retailer and experienced the savage recession of the 1990’s first hand. This was before the banks had any idea about dealing with SME's failure. Close struggling businesses first; ask questions later was the response then. Of course this was driven by insolvency practitioners who wanted big fees.
So he learned a lot in a short time and thought "how can we help struggling businesses"? He joined a specialist turnaround and insolvency firm in London in 1994 and has helped set up two venture capital companies since, specialising in the distressed / turnaround sector. What a great learning curve that was.
Keith is a former director of the UK Turnaround Management Association and an associate of the Turnaround Finance Group. There isn't much he hasn't seen, he is an entrepreneur and a risk taker, hence this business and this website. Talk to Keith directly if you want. Wayne Harrison Director of Insolvency London
Wayne is a licensed insolvency practitioner who is regulated and licensed by the IPA (Insolvency Practitioners Association). He has over 15 year’s insolvency experience and heads up our London turnaround and insolvency office. Wayne left his native Manchester in the early 90s during the last recession and headed south where he started his insolvency career with the Official Receiver in London. He has extensive experience of corporate and personal insolvency, which culminated in him being appointed by the IPA to oversee the regulation of insolvency practitioners. He joined the IPA in 2003 where he was part of the team that developed and implemented its “Better Regulation Framework” and he managed its regulatory operations for three years before making the decision to return to insolvency practice with KSA Group in 2009.
Wayne’s regulatory work at the IPA provided him with an unequalled insight into the workings of the insolvency industry and he is of the view that the corporate rescue provisions of the insolvency legislation are currently underused. This he is a champion of turnarounds and he is keen to point out that the Government is now championing the use of CVA's as a rescue mechanism of choice. He shares Eric’s ethos of “giving the right advice” and of providing assistance at the earliest opportunity, in order to give ailing businesses the best chance to weather the current economic storm and turn their fortunes around.
Wayne will give any potential new client free advice, a free meeting and most of all good guidance to the right options.
Call Wayne now on 07879 555350 or 0800 9700539.

Eric is a licensed insolvency practitioner regulated and licensed by the Insolvency Practitioners Association. His ethos is always "give the right advice, choose the right options, rescue first if possible." He has many years experience in accounting and insolvency having trained at Touche Ross (Deloitte) and has been involved in turnaround and insolvency since the early 90's.
Keith and Eric first met in a pub in Darlington in 2000 (!) and have worked closely ever since, with Eric as a partner in Marlor Walls and now a director of KSA Group. Eric has acted as nominee and supervisor of well over 100 CVA's in that time and knows the pressures and difficulties of that approach and making a rescue work, but also the success of many of the CVA clients we have mutually worked with.
Eric gained his licence in 2002 and has been involved in many innovative turnarounds as well as hundreds of liquidations, administrations and bankruptcies across the whole of the UK.
Eric will give any potential new client free advice, a free meeting and most of all good guidance to the right options.

Iain is also a director of KSA. Iain has a degree in Economics from Stirling . He knows a lot about money, business and economics of course!
He's been involved in the turnaround sector since 2001 and has huge experience of helping people like you. Iain is an expert in the use of the company voluntary arrangement mechanism, he knows more about this tool than almost anyone else in the UK. He and his corporate advice team advise clients on their restructure and work with banks, tax creditors, asset lenders and creditors to ensure a consensus approach is achieved on behalf of our clients. Iain is a skilled and tenacious negotiator who can obtain deals, supplies and support from otherwise unhelpful creditors. Iain has worked with SME’s through CVA’s, liquidations administrations and trading out. He works tirelessly for our clients who are often amazed at the deals he pulls off for them and he always has a supportive approach.
Having advised one of our clients how to deal with a landlord problem, the advice he gave became case law after a decision of the Court of Appeal, called Thomas v Ken Thomas Ltd 2006 EWCA Civ 1504. This was a complex case concerning rent payment appropriation to a landlord in the period leading up to a CVA and how they should be allocated. Iain has extensive knowledge of legal matters in CVA and you should call him if you have any questions.

Andrew Hunter - Financial Director KSA Group Ltd
Andrew trained as an accountant in London with Touche Ross, for whom he served two years in the Insolvency Department. He then worked in Corporate Finance for ANZ Banking Group before transferring to Equities analysis in Institutional Stock Broking, working for Hoare Govett and Merrill Lynch.
This role entailed the construction of financial forecast spreadsheets in order to value businesses and their shares. Having left the City in 2002 to move north, he has continued equities analysis on a consultancy basis and worked for a wide range of businesses as a consultant, before joining KSA Group in December 2008 as Financial Analyst. Grant joined KSA Group Limited as a non executive director in February 2009 He brings with him a wealth of insolvency and turnaround experience. Grant originally qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young. Having qualified as a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner, Grant established his own practice in the 80s. the name of Tenon.
Having already obtained a Masters in insolvency law from London University, post-float Grant further qualified as a New York Attorney and Solicitor, and now practices both in insolvency law with an international law firm and as accountant with a medium-sized accountancy firm.
Grant is a non-executive director of a number of companies, including one company, that went through a CVA debt-equity swap to become a highly successful operation. Grant understands, at the coalface, how the CVA process adds positive creditor and shareholder value.

Actively involved in professional matters, Grant is a council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, is the Vice President of the London Society of Chartered Accountants and a member of the Education, Courses and Conferences Committee of R3, the UK insolvency trade body.

Marie Moody - Office Manager/ Corporate Advisor
Marie is in charge of the offices across KSA. Her role is to ensure the smooth running of the day to day. Marie was one of our first employees back in 2002 and has grown her knowledge of insolvency and CVA's in particular. Marie is based in Berwick.
Like Philippa, Marie has talked to thousands of worried directors, creditors, partners and sole traders over some 7 years or more of working with KSA and has an ability to listen and ask pertinent questions. Not a skill that many people in insolvency have! Marie has also helped set up www.debtless.co.uk our online information service for people with personal debt problems. Marie combines provision of support to her portfolio of clients, with her role of ensuring that all of the functions of the offices are controlled and working well.
We have a great team of advisors across the UK. With over a dozen trained advisors ready to take your call, we can guarantee you will be surprised how much better you will feel after talking to KSA. In our experience most insolvency practitioners remain tied to closure techniques or those methods where fees are greatest. Whilst many IP’s are moving into the rescue and restructure field they do not communicate with distressed companies easily. There are few (understandable) books about rescuing your business - so we built this site way back in 2000.
We are very keen to help worried directors, give them options and solutions and see their business go forward. Where that is not possible we help with a dignified exit or restart.
Call us or email us, fill out the form on contact us page, whichever way you contact us we are proud of our ability and willingness to help.
Obviously there is a commercial motive - we are all in business to make profits - but we hope that the lack of overt selling messages on the this website means that you do not feel hustled to buy anything. We are not interested in advertising revenue from other people. Our aim is to answer your questions and worries professionally and innovatively, then we will hopefully be able to work with your business.
For your clarity our commercial gain will come from providing hands on and agreed turnaround work through our expert company doctors or insolvency work through our insolvency practitioners. All fees are quoted in writing in advance. We normally SAVE your business cashflow and thus our fees are affordable.
This comprehensive web resource is entirely free and confidential to use.
If you have tried our service or used our site for free information please spread the word! See our testimonials page here.
If you have a complaint or comment, please call Keith Steven on 0800 9700539 and I will answer your comments. I welcome advice on how to improve the site.
Our advice is free at delivery but to cope with demand we ask that you email us, (or fill out the contact us form or call our Freephone number 0800 9700 539), with a broad outline of the problem and we will call you back at a time and on a number that will keep our conversation discreet. Or if you prefer we can send an email confidentiality agreement before you disclose any of your financial details. To do this please put confidentiality request in your email title box.
Our advice is entirely free until a service or product is offered to your company, this will be in writing and only after a detailed meeting and analysis of the company by one of our directors. We have directors across the UK.
Finally - remember we are here to help. We work all day with distressed businesses, there is very little that you can tell us that will surprise us! Sometimes a dispassionate, disconnected look at your business can greatly assist you to make a decision. So swallow your pride, read this site and then contact us.
